It's looking a little brighter!

The days are getting longer, that is very obvious. That has to mean winter is almost over, right?  In any case, I took a photo a month ago on the way out the door and posted it, so I figured I better this month again to compare them!  So, here you go....

It's a balmy -43 with the windchill this morning, -31 celsius before the wind. Yuck. It might be getting brighter out, but it's still COLD!

Funny, Mom was noticing the longer days yesterday, too. For the past several months it's been dark by 5:30 (if not earlier) that our outdoor play sessions end before 5pm. But last night Mom took us out at 5:30 and it was still light out! This is one of my favorite times of the year, because we still have snow (and will get more for another month or two), and it's starting to get lighter out! Yay spring! :-)

Beautiful photo, BTW!

Winter is sadly still with us, but we are enjoying longer days and above freezing temperatures. Still lots of snow.

-31C? are you kidding me? i can't even imagine what that feels like. a couple of years ago, my other half and i were in the atacama desert predawn, it was about -7 and even with 5 layers of thermals on, we were Very VERY unhappy.

i salute all you people who live with frozen winters. i'm also having a little anxiety attack because of the sudden spate of hopeful spring posts from bloggers over where you are. it can only mean summer's end is coming for us over here.

today, with a stinky muggy day, i can't wait!

Oh my gosh - I had to look up SK - you're in Canada! Well that explains those wacky temps! It's pretty warm here - in the low 70's but I can't say I'm really ready for it. The days are definitely getting longer, though - when I leave for work, I can see the sun trying to peek its way over the horizon.

Thankfully our temps here on the west coast of Canada are nowhere near as cold as yours - or, at least, not where I am. Northern BC is another matter.
Signs of spring are everywhere, and the annual Victoria BC flower count is next weekend, I believe.
Just three more weeks and we switch to daylight savings time - hurray! (But I don't think SK does DST, does it?).

Nope, no dst here!! My parents live in Alberta however (as does one of my dearest friends I speak to everyday) so I pay attention to the time difference. I rather enjoy not changing the clock!! :)

And, yes, I love Victoria and hope to live there someday- warmer and springier right now! But, I wouldn't say brighter- it's hard to find a sunnier place than Saskatoon, at any time of the year! :)

And, Georgia, I like to think it proves I'm tough!! I used to live 7 hours drive, north of here and that was even colder in winter. But, our summers are gorgeous with the possibility of temps to about +40, although that's not typical- high 20's, low 30's celsius is typical. I love the seasons, that's partly what keeps me here!

Yuck. I would not be able to handle that kind of cold. Anything under forty in the winter and sixty is the summer is too cold for me. Sometimes even with the house seventy degrees I'll sit and shiver. I have noticed the days getting longer as well and I'm enjoying it immensely.
