Really, we're helping out with laundry!

It's been a quiet weekend here... my agility classes were cancelled for Murphy and Sophie, so I've hunkered down with the books and spent time reading about feminist epistemologies and paradigms and research methodology. In the midst of that, I did laundry and cleaned the house. As well, my buddy Carla came over (photos she took will be posted tomorrow!).

But, for today, I give you "See ma, I's helping with the laundry, really"

Why must she lie on the CLEAN DISHCLOTHS??

Spike and Murphy cuddled on the bed.  Murph follows me room to room as I put things away. Silly dog!

Sophie napping on the loveseat, next to where I am working on reading and taking notes. Yup, she likes to cuddle up close.

Ringo in a rare moment of awakeness is entertaining himself. He's at that cute stage where he's all chubby tummy, eating and sleeping. I love puppies, and he's a gem, that's for sure!

Hmmm, yummy bone!  He loves it when everyone else is napping and isn't around to steal all the good bones away. Poor pup!

Anyway, all in all, it's been a great weekend! I need more of these "quiet, stay at home studying" weekends!

Quiet, stay at home (not) studying weekends are the best! I'm one of those people that needs down time to recharege. Somehow, tere never seems to be enough downtime...

Hehe the only one I have to worry about getting on the clean laundry is the cat. I think she's finally figured out that's a bad idea though. I can't handle cat hair on anything that might be around my face. I put my clean clothes in a rocking chair when I'm folding them though so the dogs aren't a problem. :)

Okay, here are some videos I found for teaching Shy. I haven't worked on it yet. Being lazy lol.

This is the best one I think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAgJlVRcPQk

This is a good variation if we have any problems using the other method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFgz2xIpDHI

Here is one with a puppy . . . I like the high rate of reinforcement, but I think I prefer to remove the tape each time like in the first video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHWP9x0aFbs

Let me know if you find any good videos or have any ideas. I'm going to try the method in the first video. I'll try to post an update in the next week or so. Can't wait to hear your progress. :)

Ahh! I'm so excited! I worked with Jackal last night on Shy and it was a bit frustrating. He just didn't seem to be getting it. He was too distracted by the tape.

Tonight I tried again, but this time I stuck the tape on his nose really well and didn't take it off between clicks which seemed to work much better. Doing it that way I was able to click six or seven times in really quick succession before he got the tape off. Then he sort of did it on his own without the tape, but was confused so I put it back on. It took him another two or three times to get it off, then I waited him out and he did it three times PERFECTLY without the tape!!! I stopped there because I ran out of hot dog pieces and I wanted to end on a good note. I can't believe he's getting it in the second session. I know it'll take several more times with the tape before he really gets it, but I'm just excited because last night was so frustrating and today feels like such a break through. :) I can't wait to hear how you're doing.

Hi new friends! We came here via MangoMinster, but you totally caught Mom's eyes with the 'research methodology' comment; Mom's got a Ph.D. in (get this...) Parks and Recreation (with a minor in statistics, and back when she had a job, she was a statistican/study-designer at the University) and knows all about that research stuff. Us? We're more interested in what gets pulled out of the trash cans! You guys are crazy, and we love you for it!
